Throwback Thursday

For this week’s #ThrowbackThursday, I’m taking a joyful trip back to 2010 and sharing one of my very first repurposed art creations—a whimsical strainer wind chime. What began as a humble vintage metal strainer was transformed with antique silverware, each piece carrying its own history, and finished with cascading glass beads in soothing blues and greens that shimmer in the light. Designed to sway gently in a garden breeze, this piece marks the beginning of my love for giving forgotten objects new life through creativity and imagination.

Taking a delightful trip down memory lane for this week's #throwbackthursday, I'm so excited to share a glimpse of my very first foray into the world of repurposed art: this charming strainer wind chime, lovingly handcrafted in 2010!

This whimsical creation began its life as a humble vintage metal strainer, which I envisioned transforming into something truly unique. To add a touch of vintage elegance and a delightful clinking sound, I incorporated an assortment of antique silverware, each piece with its own story to tell. Cascading below, vibrant glass beads in a spectrum of blues, greens, and shimmering accents catch the light and dance in the breeze. I imagined this piece would find its perfect home gently swaying in a garden.
